Science, religion, and politics are indeed in a terrible, tangled mess. Instead of being a solution, social media is the problem. Democracy is great for solving political problems, but apparently not for settling issues in science or religion. Social media generally is an abysmal failure because very distorted views of science and religion dominate social media.
There are actually people on Facebook arguing that one vaccine success means every vaccine after will also be a success. It has apparently never occurred to them that success can have negative consequences.
The distorted views of science and religion are crippling politics also. What to do politically for 2028 has many people finally seeing the very longstanding problem and wondering what can be done about it. Which Democrat should run against which Republican is far from settled. Deciding that still requires sorting out the tangled mess of science, religion, and politics.
The software on Facebook was never designed well for debate. It began as mostly a way to share photos with family and close friends online. It might even be fair to say Facebook software still discourages debate. However true that might be, the problem of mistaken views of science and religion is especially rampant on Facebook. Many of those people have been invited to consider arguments on this site.
This site does have more thoroughly developed ideas of science and religion. It explains how the distorted views arose. There should not be a “war” between science and religion as though one being right means the other must be wrong. Science and religion each address very different problems the other typically does not.
A common mistake is assuming religion must be literal. This site explains that not only is religion typically in figurative language, it must be. There are problems that cannot be addressed literally.
